Tamara Moore is a self-taught artist who studied sumi-e ink painting starting at the age of 13 and garnered her first exhibit at age 18. Her medium changed to collage in the early '90s, and she has exhibited her artwork in both group and solo exhibitions in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Her work can be found in private collections throughout the US, Europe, and Japan.
Moore is a native of Western Pennsylvania who lived for many years in Columbus, Ohio. She holds bachelor of science and master of arts degrees in literature from Clarion University. She returned to Pittsburgh in 1999, a year before founding Blue Ruin Gallery with partner Amy Woodall. In 2001 Moore was voted one of Pittsburgh's "40 Under 40" by the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project and Pittsburgh Magazine.
